RETAINED LIFE ESTATE

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS

  • You irrevocably transfer ownership of your personal residence, vacation home or farm to Gilda’s Club Kentuckiana.
  • You retain the right to live in and use the property for the rest of your life—or for a specified number of years—rent-free. You remain responsible for property taxes, insurance and maintenance.
  • When your retained life estate ends, Gilda’s Club Kentuckiana takes full ownership of the property, using its value to further our mission of providing emotional and social support to those impacted by cancer.

This type of gift allows you to:

  • Make a major future gift without giving up the use of your property today;
  • Potentially receive an immediate income tax deduction based on the value of the remainder interest; and
  • Create a lasting legacy with a deeply personal asset.
