SAMPLE LANGUAGE FOR ESTATE PLANNING

BECAUSE EVEN GILDA HAD A SCRIPT

Planning for the future and creating a legacy that reflects your values is one of the most meaningful ways to make a lasting impact.

By including Gilda’s Club Kentuckiana in your will or living trust through a bequest—you can ensure that your compassion and commitment to those impacted by cancer live on. Your gift can be a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate or the remainder after other provisions are met.

Here is sample language you can use when drafting or updating your estate plans.

UNRESTRICTED AND DESIGNATED GIFTS

For an unrestricted gift that allows Gilda’s Club Kentuckiana to use your donation where it is needed most:

“I give to Gilda’s Club Kentuckiana, a nonprofit organization currently located at 2440 Grinstead Drive, Louisville, KY 40204, or its successor thereto, [insert dollar amount, percentage of estate, or description of property] for its general charitable purposes.”

To designate your gift for a specific purpose, such as support groups, youth programs, or wellness initiatives:

“I give to Gilda’s Club Kentuckiana, a nonprofit organization currently located at 2440 Grinstead Drive, Louisville, KY 40204, or its successor thereto, [insert dollar amount, percentage of estate, or description of property]. This gift should be used for [state purpose] if and so long as Gilda’s Club Kentuckiana determines that the need exists. If Gilda’s Club Kentuckiana determines that the stated purpose is no longer practical or necessary, it may use the funds in a way that most closely aligns with my original intent.”
