Fall Forest Bathing

Location: Whole Farmhouse
Connect to the outdoors with mindful movement and meditation, surrounded by trees. Research shows forest bathing helps alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety, eliminates negative emotions, and promotes mental wellbeing. Participants will meet atour Gilda’s Clark Clubhouse and together make the short walk (a few minutes) to our wooded practice area. Students are given the option to sit in a chair or close to the ground. Dress appropriately for the weather. Your instructor will cancel class ifthe weather is unsuitable or unsafe for our practice. In this workshop, Chief Storyteller at Gilda's and Pulitzer Prize-winning editor Kristina Goetz will help you uncover what makes a story unforgettable — and how to find, shape, and tell the part of your experience that people remember long after they’ve heard it. You’ll learn how to transform lived experience into stories that give others hope, help people better understand cancer, inspire generosity, and influence decisions. This isn’t about telling your whole story. It’s about finding the part that only you can tell. Because your story may be one of the most powerful gifts you have. Ask a Death Doula

So, you saw that episode of The Pitt, and now you're curious about death doulas. Local death doula Becky Robison is here to answer all your questions. Is a death doula the same thing as a hospice nurse? (No.) Will a death doula help me have an end-of-lifeconversation with my kids? (Absolutely.) Can I hire a death doula if I'm not dying? (We're all dying, technically—but yes.) We labor out of life, just like we labor into it. A death doula can help. HYBRID @ GRINSTEAD
Peaceful Paint Night

Gilda's Club has been a safe haven, a second family, and a wonderful experience for me. I have laughed, cried, and learned so much.
Gilda’s is an extension of my family in a way I would never have expected. It’s made such a positive impact on my family and me.
I didn't choose to get cancer; it chose me. At Gilda's, I've learned that cancer doesn't define who I am, what I can do, or how to live my life. I'm still in charge of me as I walk this journey learning to live with cancer, and not for cancer.
The support I've received has been invaluable and it's comforting to know I'm surrounded by people who truly understand the cancer journey and are there to support me every step of the way.
As a person caring for a loved one with cancer, I cannot recommend Gilda’s enough to others. Gilda’s left me more informed and less alone. It’s a vital resource.
Gilda’s saved me when my husband was diagnosed with brain cancer. Gilda’s became an emotional lifeline. To be surrounded by those with similar stories was invaluable. After he passed, I joined the bereavement group and learned to navigate how to live with loss.
