A planned gift to Gilda’s Club Kentuckiana is a powerful way to create a lasting legacy while ensuring the long-term sustainability of our mission. These future-focused gifts provide critical support that allows us to offer free emotional and social support to individuals and families facing cancer—today, tomorrow, and for generations to come.

Because planned gifts are often made from assets rather than income, they allow donors to make a more significant impact than might be possible during their lifetime. Whether through a bequest, beneficiary designation, or other estate planning tool, your gift helps build a foundation of stability—ensuring that no one has to face cancer alone, now or in the future.

A bequest is a gift made through your will or living trust. It allows you to leave a specific dollar amount, a particular asset, or a percentage of your estate to Gilda’s Club. Bequests are flexible and can be updated as your circumstances change.

A beneficiary designation, on the other hand, is made outside of your will. It involves naming Gilda’s Club as a beneficiary of financial accounts such as retirement plans, life insurance policies, or bank accounts. These gifts typically pass directly to the organization and do not go through probate.

Both options are meaningful ways to support our mission and ensure that no one faces cancer alone.

Making a bequest to Gilda’s Club Kentuckiana is simple and can be done by including language in your will or living trust that specifies your gift. You can choose to leave a specific amount, a percentage of your estate, or a particular asset such as real estate or securities.

We encourage you to consult with your attorney or financial advisor to ensure your plans reflect your intentions. If you’ve already included Gilda’s Club in your estate plans, please let us know so we can thank you and welcome you into our Thumbprint Society.
